Overview
At the Certificate III level a person is equipped with skills and knowledge to perform supervision duties. This would include leadership skills to develop work teams. A person working in the operational area of the security industry may undertake the units listed below, however a supervisor may have the responsibility of managing a work team via a control room. This person would require basic technical skills to modify equipment and manage databases and therefore that person would need to look at completing other relevant units.

The Security Industry is a rapidly expanding profession providing exciting and challenging opportunities in a variety of areas. Successful completion of this course will enable participants to work in supervisory and operational areas of security and have a good understanding of leadership, workplace safety, workplace relationships and conflict management.
Delivery
To achieve this qualification the candidate must have demonstrated competency against all (9) nine core units and (4) four elective units.
The course is presented in line with adult learning principles incorporating structured tutorials, interactive workshops, case studies, video, practical assignments and workplace application wherever possible. Individual and group work is conducted throughout the course.

Duration
The qualification is completed by attending full-time for 5 days, or may be completed by flexible learning options, i.e. correspondence. For those participants who are completing the OPTIONAL defensive techniques or other electives in the training program an additional 2 days attendance is required.
Presenters
Course presenters are all recognised industry experts holding relevant experience and training qualifications. They include security industry specialists, former and currently serving police officers, lawyers, OH&S practitioners and organisational development consultants.
Prerequisites
Students must possess reasonable literacy and numeracy skills with a sound grasp of spoken English. Law Enforcement Training Solutions provides support for language and literacy for participants who require it.
Cost
Course cost will be advised on application. Special conditions may apply on consideration for prior qualifications. Payment in full prior to the commencement of the course is preferred. However you may secure your booking by forwarding a minimum of $100 deposit. Please contact Administration Office Staff if you require assistance with a payment plan.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Law Enforcement Training Solutions recognises the Recognition of Prior Learning (or Skills Recognition) process, which formally recognises the skills and knowledge an individual has acquired through formal or informal training through, work or life-experience.
The cost of the RPL process is $350 or $75 per unit.
Lunch
Unless stipulated in writing, lunch is the responsibility of each person attending a training course. It is suggested that you bring with you a sufficient light meal and refreshments for each day's attendance.
Dress
It is expected that you will attend all classes dressed in a neat and casual manner. For the comfort of all those around you please ensure you have given appropriate consideration to your personal hygiene and grooming, good personal hygiene and grooming represents good personal discipline. Ensure you are wearing closed footwear as no open toed footwear will be permitted.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is not permitted indoors, but is allowed outdoors in designated areas. The receptionist or training coordinator at your training facility will direct you.
